Put the complete study into one ZIP archive. If the file is large, upload it to a file-sharing service and send the professor a download link. Follow the steps below.
Create a folder on your computer and name it using the patient’s surname, first name and patronymic in Ukrainian. Use this format: Прізвище Ім’я По батькові, replacing these words with the patient’s details. Open the disc in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac), select every folder and file, and copy them into this folder. Wait until copying finishes.
Keep the folder structure and every image series. You do not need to select the “best” image or run the viewing software supplied on the disc.
A screenshot or the report alone does not replace the complete study. You can attach the report separately.

Create one ZIP archive
Choose your operating system. Compress the folder named after the patient that contains the entire disc.
Right-click the folder → Show more options (if shown) → Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder.
In Finder, Control-click the folder and choose Compress.
A ZIP file appears beside the folder. Keep the same patient’s full name in Ukrainian in its filename: Прізвище Ім’я По батькові.zip. Wait for compression to finish. Open the ZIP and check that it contains the copied folders and files. Keep your original disc.

Send a download link for a large archive
CT / MRI archives are often too large to attach to an email or message. Upload the ZIP to a file-sharing or cloud storage service, then send the professor its download link with the patient’s full name. A small archive can be attached directly.
If the imaging centre has already provided a link, you do not need to upload the archive again. Check access and the link’s expiry date. Go to the contact addresses →

Go to drive.google.com and sign in to your account.
Add your archive
Choose “New” → “File upload” and select Прізвище Ім’я По батькові.zip.

Keep the tab open until the upload finishes.
Give the professor access
Right-click the file → “Share”. Add one email address below as a “Viewer”. Keep general access restricted.
Copy the link
Save the access settings and select “Copy link”. Check that downloading is allowed.
Send the link and full name
Paste the link into an email or private Telegram chat. Include the patient’s full name and which email address you granted access to.
Check the service’s current size limit and retention period before uploading. If your archive does not fit, use another service or ask the imaging centre for help. Keep every image series in the archive.
Send the medical download link only to the professor in a private message. If it is password-protected, send the password in a separate private message.

Include the patient’s full name
Provide the patient’s surname, first name and patronymic, if applicable. If you also use Telegram, give the same name there and state which email address you sent the study from. This lets the professor match your email to your message.
Email subject: CT/MRI — [patient’s full name]
Replace the text in square brackets with your own details before sending.

?
No computer, no disc drive, or need help creating the archive?
Ask the administrator at the centre where you had the CT or MRI to send the complete study archive or a download link to the professor. Give them the exact email address and ask them to include the patient’s full name. Tell the professor whose study they will receive.
